Description
SAIC has an immediate opening for a Site Lead at Laughlin AFB in Del Rio, Texas. This is an onsite position, with no opportunity for remote work.
The Site Lead will be responsible for managing daily operations of eight Mid-tier Training Devices (MTD) and a team of seven simulator technicians. The MTDs resemble the T-1A AMP Jayhawk and are used to train the next generation of pilots in multi-engine/instrument operation using simulation and mixed reality technology.
The ideal candidate should have experience in gaming, simulation, aircraft maintenance and/or operation, along with a strong background in Internet Technology (IT). A CompTIA Sec+ certification will be required within 90 days of hire. Extensive experience in leadership and the ability to effectively interface with United States Air Force (USAF) senior officers is required. The Site Lead is expected to quickly become a systems expert regarding simulator functionality, and be able to grow a group of individual contributors into a collaborative team. Upon hiring, the Site Lead will be expected to immediately travel to Vance AFB, OK for training.
Other duties may include, but are not limited too:
Occasional lifting that may require handling of components which can weigh up to 75 lbs.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and walk and talk or hear; use hands and finger, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl into confined spaces.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Availability to work shift schedules, overtime, holidays and weekends.
Qualifications
Bachelor's and (nine) 9, Masters and (seven) 7 or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree
Security+ certification (Or IATII equivalent) – or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Comfortable researching, developing, and integrating emerging technologies that have little documentation.
Able to communicate technical capabilities and issues to non-technical customers.
Ability to work off-hours and travel around 10% as needed for support.
Must be able to obtain a Government CAC card for base access.
Must be able to pass a Background Check, Fingerprints Required.
