The Senior Mechanical Engineer will plan and execute development studies for Value Analysis/Value Engineer (VAVE) projects. The Senior Mechanical Engineer plans and conducts design/development engineering assignments generally involving projects of medium magnitude and scope, estimates human resource needs and schedules work to meet completion dates and technical specifications and may coordinate and direct Engineers, Designers and Technicians assigned to projects. This individual will be involved with developing proposals and cost estimates, evaluating progress and results, and recommending major changes in procedures or objectives. They will focus on design/development engineering assignments focused on mechanical systems, subsystems, and components used in medical devices. They will also be responsible for identifying areas for cost savings, optimizing product performance, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Under limited supervision, general direction, and in accordance with all applicable government laws, regulations and ASP policies, procedures and guidelines, this position:

　　Requires understanding of VAVE/PPV principles.

　　Requires and applies broad knowledge in the mechanical design specialty area and good knowledge of principles and practices of related specialties in the development and improvement of new or existing products and associated processes.

　　Plans and conducts design and development engineering assignments involving projects of medium magnitude and scope.

　　Estimates resource needs.

　　Technically supervises or coordinates the work of Engineers and Technicians and others who assist in specific assignments.

　　Delivers mechanical designs from concept, to requirements, to design, to verification and validation, and to design transfer.

　　Generates system or subsystem requirements.

　　Generates mechanical drawings and 3D models.

　　Specifies mechanical components and hardware.

　　Evaluates progress and results against goals and objectives.

　　Provides technical training and guidance to key collaborators.

　　Generates and implements test protocols.

　　Generates written reports.

　　Maintains accurate documentation of concepts, designs, drawings, processes, test methods, data analysis and conclusions or rationales.

　　Performs Failure Analyses and Investigation reports.

　　Works out proposals and cost estimates of project related costs.

　　Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.

　　Our Needs:

　　5+ years of related engineering experience with BSME.

　　3+ years of related engineering experience with MSME.

　　Experience in VAVE, cost reduction, and product improvement initiatives.

　　Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

　　Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project.

　　Demonstrated Verbal and written communication skills.

　　Proficient with SolidWorks.

　　GD&T working knowledge.

　　Knowledge of Electrical Safety.

　　This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.
