Job Description:
Shipping/Receiving Forklift Operator-Colby, WI
This is a full time, hourly position.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work with numbers.
Work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Complete forklift safety training.
Work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve safe and efficient receiving, warehousing, distribution and shipping operations.
Follow time and attendance guidelines in accordance with the employee handbook.
Able to stand for long periods and climb stairs occasionally throughout shift.
Capable of occasionally maneuvering 500-pound barrels on a cart or on a surface with assistance.
Ability to regularly lift and / or carry up to 55 pounds individually or up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Ability to squat and bend occasionally while lifting up to 55 pounds during shift.
Capable of accurately operating equipment and various machinery safely using basic controls.
Tolerant of seasonally very warm temperatures.
QUALITY CONTROL REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of and ability to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Awareness of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and its importance.
Follow all Safe Quality Food (SQF) guidelines.
Report any suspicious activity related to food defense.
NOTE: Required to report food safety problems or concerns immediately to a person with authority to initiate action as indicated on the organizational chart.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Be aware of and follow up to date OSHA regulations that apply to the tasks in your job.
Be aware of your surroundings, watching for forklift traffic and trip hazards such as pallets or cords when entering the production area.
Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when entering the production area.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS

Complete the daily forklift operator checklist prior to using the forklift during your shift.
Operate a forklift to load and unload goods in and out of the warehouse.
Load trucks with finished product
Perform trailer inspection
Sweep trailer
Complete Shipping Paperwork
Secure seals on outgoing trucks.
Unload incoming materials
Break seals on incoming trucks.
Perform trailer inspection

Inform the Warehouse Manager when more pallets are needed.
Inform the Warehouse Manager when to order a truck to pick up cardboard bundles when there are 35 bales.
Create pallet tags for finished product.
Take pallets off rollers when product is coming out of the VRT.
Fill palletizer when pallets are low.
Separate barrels of cheese when loads need to be split.
Remove damaged product from pallets. Damaged product must be placed in a clear bag with an ingredient label attached. Restack pallets as needed.
Take periodic inventories and participate in the monthly inventory program.
ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.
