Shipping Packer
Do you like working with your hands and building with wood? We are looking to hire an energetic person to assist us in preparing orders for shipping. Associate will utilize order delivery sheets to pick a wide variety of items, and assemble proper packaging following specific instructions, and guidelines. The associate will check finished goods for damage, and confirm correct items and quantities are packed. They will perform duties in accordance with standard operating instructions and ensure inbound and outbound shipments are correct and defect-free.
Responsibilities
Constructing and assembling pre-made shipping containers such as wooden crates, pallets, and boxes for shipping purposes while ensuring that product is packed correctly and safely to prevent product damage or injury to others.
Work with power tools, air tools, measuring tools, and hand tools in shipping, packing, and crating.
Cleaning or repackaging product once received into the system.
Weighing packages and labeling them appropriately.
Inspecting packages to ensure they are not damaged.
Process daily orders by Customer want date or any other shipping categories set as a priority.
Follow internal record-keeping processes including many logs, delivery notes, freight documents, etc.
Filling out packing and order forms with the relevant shipping information
Performs other similar or related duties as required and follow stand work instruction.
Observes and obeys all safety rules, practices, and procedures.
Safely use forklifts for loading of trucks or material movement.
Maintain a professional image.
Loading and unloading trucks by using jacks and forklifts.
Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner.
Wear personal protective equipment as required.
Requirements
Comprehension of ergonomic tables and carts.
Strong measuring skills.
Ability to read and write to follow instructions.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work harmoniously with a diverse range of people and skill sets.
Self-motivated and Positive attitude.
Dependable and trustworthy.
Must be able to constantly lift, bend, and twist.
Regularly filling up to 50 lbs. with the ability to lift 75 pounds intermittently.
Basic Computer skills.
Workplace safety awareness habits.
Qualifications
High school Diploma.
Accurate mathematic and measuring skills.
Ability to operate forklifts is a plus.
Physically agile and dexterous.
