Verifies and keeps records on incoming shipments by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Other duties may be assigned.
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, packing slips, or other records.
Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
Enters receiving data into ERP system.
Ensures items have part # visually on boxes, pallets, tags, bins etc. before leaving receiving area.
Routes items to departments.
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Operates tier lift truck or uses handtruck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have intermediate data entry skills.
