Title: Shift LeadDescription: •Perform research and/or development for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) solutions in collaboration with other Scientists on projects working with cloning, fermentation, protein expression and purification;•Participate in activities such as RNA isolation, cDNA library construction, library amplification, genomic DNA isolation, polymerase chain reaction, and other standard molecular biology techniques;•Perform standard, custom and specialized library preparation; and lead troubleshooting efforts and key reagent preparation;•Use sequence analysis tools and library normalization and subtraction protocols as well as RNA isolation;•Conduct proper operation and routine maintenance across Illumina and PacBio platforms, and perform complex calculations and demultiplexing data review; •Monitor run performance and communicate with vendor regarding related issues;•Independently perform all sample types of extraction following standard and custom protocols; and create in-house extraction method reference guide;•Prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses;•Handle communications between internal teams for project related issues and questions; and •Backup team leaders and contribute to process improvements.Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Biology, Biological Sciences, or related field plus 1 year of experience performing biological testing and validation. Experience, which can be gained concurrently, must include:•1 year of experience performing laboratory procedures following SOPs for DNA & RNA extraction, plasmid purification, Gel electrophoresis, PCR primer design, PCR, qPCR, DNA & RNA library construction, Next Generation sequencing, Sanger sequencing and Sanger Data analysis; •1 year of experience managing and executing multiple validation and sequencing projects;•1 year of experience analyzing DNA sequences and chromatograms; and tracking and tabulating results;•1 year of experience optimizing and troubleshooting experimental workflows and equipment;•1 year of experience maintaining accurate and complete laboratory and electronic records;•1 year of experience independently analyzing and summarizing results for internal review and written technical reports;•1 year of experience maintaining lab stocks, solutions, reagents, supplies and sample/reagent inventory.Job Site: 115 Corporate Boulevard, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
