Responsibilities:

Disassembles and performs partial or complete overhaul of engines, transmissions, and differentials

Uses gauges, special tools, and specialized equipment to diagnose mechanical failure or problems

Makes wheel alignments and balances wheels

Installs and/or adjusts brakes, heaters and defrosters

Replaces worn or broken parts

Operates vehicles to diagnose problems and validate that repairs have been completed

Repairs gasoline and diesel engines

Repairs equipment and machinery as necessary

Job Requirements

Familiarity with automobiles and repairs

Must be computer literate

Must have a valid driver’s license and DMV Drivers Abstract must be provided

Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Skills/Qualifications

General knowledge of automobiles and automobile repairs

At least 1 year of experience to be considered

High School diploma or GED – ASE Certification preferred

NYS Inspectors License preferred

Mathematical and reading skills

Ability to learn new technology

Ability to learn new service techniques and procedure
