　　Under the direction of the Utilities Supervisor or his designee,performs a variety of duties related to the operation and maintenance ofwater wells, water distribution, wastewater treatment plant, andcollection (sewer) system.

　　Maintains wells, water distribution, wastewater treatment plant andcollection (sewer) system to ensure it is operating correctly.Schedules and performs maintenance on generators, equipment, firehydrants, water, and sewer lines.Performs utility locates to mark water, sewer, and storm lines.Operates water tank trucks, high velocity water jet cleaners, pumps,generators, and other equipment.Completes daily work orders for customers.Installs new water services, meters, repair of water services.Performs follow-up on sewer stoppage and odor complaints.Prepares reports reflecting work completed, work orders, area ofcompletion, and sewer stoppage report.Samples and photographs wastewater overflows and other accidentsattributable to the operation and maintenance of the wastewaterplant and collection system.Promptly submits written reports detailing actions and proceduresused to correct problems.Performs grounds maintenance at water wells, wastewater plant andcollection systems such as mowing, trimming, edging, and spraying.Operation of the wastewater treatment plant, water wells, and pumpstations.Performs routine water well and pump station inspection.Performs preventative maintenance and repair to pumps, motors,control valves, station monitors, electrical controls, chlorinators,and related pump station equipment.Diagnoses problems and requests assistance to resolve them whennecessary.Responds to treatment plant failures, lift station failures whennotified by alarms from the systems automated dialer, and waterservices calls.Reads meters when the regular meter reader is absent.Performs other duties as assigned or required.
