The Azure Cloud Experiences Studio (CXS) is a multidisciplinary user experience (UX) studio of dedicated UX professionals working on Microsoft Azure cloud products and services. The teams across the studio design experiences around cloud management, infrastructure, core OS services, engineering systems, service health, and much more.
We are seeking a Senior UX Researcher who’s focused on understanding customers and the potential of the cloud. We want to know what our customers want and what’s going to make their work and lives better. Innovation happens when we truly understand our customers.
As a member of an interdisciplinary team, you’ll be collaborating on the products and services of Azure cloud ecosystem. This opportunity will allow you to deepen your knowledge of cloud services, further develop your research skills working with customers, and grow your collaboration skills as you work with multiple disciplines to create products and services.

Responsibilities
Proactively identifying and prioritizing research needs and potential problem areas that need to be researched.
Developing plans for research studies and/or research programs for a product area.
Delivering meaningful research insights for a set of products and services.
A passionate advocate for our customers throughout the development process driving decision making based on data and user perspectives to help product teams create new features.
Communicating rich customer data and articulating the implications of research findings in clear and compelling ways to multiple audiences including leadership.
Detail oriented and thorough, but flexible enough to work within time and product constraints.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 4+ years User Experience Research experience
Or Master's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 4+ years User Experience Research experience
Or Doctorate in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 3+ years User Experience Research experience
Or equivalent experience.
4+ years relevant domain experience within the cloud services space.
4+ years experience in research methods impacting both product direction and detailed experience design.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Experience generating research plans.
UX Research IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
