Reference #: 1809Overview
What we are trying to solveOver the next year, one of our team's highest priority projects is building out Certara Cloud, a suite of products. Think of it as Adobe Cloud for clinical trials. Our products are used in clinical trials, which require work from several different departments. These departments work in silos. You may have experienced siloed departments at your current or earlier company where Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, and QA work without ever consulting each other. Only when they hit a roadblock do they reach out. The large gap in feedback results in less quality and efficiency. The same thing is happening with clinical trials, but we want that to change. Our roadmap is in place, the software is in development, the UI Design Library is set up, and our Design System is built. Now we need to increase adoption and execution of the Design System in our products to create a cohesive look and feel. This is where you enter. The work is challenging because we are uniting separately developed software into a single platform. Each product uses a different front-end framework, like React, Angular, Vue, Play, and Twirl. Also, our engineering teams have varied knowledge of front-end frameworks and design systems.Responsibilities
What you will be doingAs part of the Product Design Team, reporting to the Principal Product Designer, you will be part of a core team who will research and identify front-end code patterns. You partner with our Senior UI/UX Engineer to help decide and execute the best way to build reusable and scalable UI components in our Design System for our products to use.You will play a leading role in the design system's maintenance, adoption strategy, and tactical implementation. This is our first time rolling out a design system and we are looking for someone who has vast experience to share. Wait, there's more. You will share valuable insight with the Product team to shape the design experience for our products. You'll write code with software engineers to execute the experience in our products. You will recommend and execute in-product design system customizations and micro-interactions and advocate for accessibility standards. In return, you will learn a ton about the unique challenges we have in the life science industry. Your contributions will help bring medicines, like the Covid-19 vaccines, to the public faster. Not to mention, you will work alongside an incredibly talented team of product managers, designers, and developers.Qualifications
