  Description

  The CloudTune Capacity Management and Planning (CaMP) team is responsible for planning, procuring and managing cloud compute resources used by all Amazon product and service teams. We are looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager to join our high performing and diverse team. You will ensure successful scaling for world wide peak events including Prime Day, Q4 holidays, and Prime Video original launches. You will optimize capacity decisions (minimizing risk to availability, minimizing cost to Amazon and reducing customer overhead) and you will develop processes and best practices which scale to tens of thousands of teams.

  Job Responsibilities -

  As a Sr. Technical Program Manager on the CaMP team, you will lead initiatives which capacity assurance for our peak events such as PrimeDay, BlackFriday / Cyber Monday launches. Your work will span across Amazon’s vast array of businesses (Alexa, Advertising, Digital Video, Retail Websites and more) as well as Amazon Web Services and balance demand and supply of cloud resources. This is a highly visible role in which you will leverage your technical influence to build relationships with business units across Amazon, supporting their cloud compute scaling plans. Your stakeholders include reliability engineering teams, finance teams, AWS and Amazon leadership to the VP level.

  You will consider communication and data analysis your strengths. You will use data driven analysis to make multi-million dollar decisions daily, to drive mitigation strategies where constraints block our ability to have a successful peak event, and you will contribute to the long term (3+ year) vision for the team. Your requirements to manage these initiates will and to scope and drive the implementation of feature requests to stakeholder teams. You will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and articulate trade-offs, and balance business needs versus business and technical constraints.

  Basic Qualifications

  7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  3+ years of software development experience

  5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  Preferred Qualifications

  5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experienceAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
