Pearson is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer with expertise in Android testing using Espresso. As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building the automated testing strategy and ensuring the quality and reliability of the Mondly mobile applications. You will work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, leveraging the latest tools and practices to enhance our automated testing processes. Responsibilities
Test Automation : Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Espresso for Android applications, ensuring robust and reliable test coverage. Support Android Developers to incorporate the process of building features with UI tests. Build and improve the overall automated testing process for the Mondly by Pearson mobile apps.
Test Framework : Design, implement, and optimize test automation frameworks that align with industry best practices and adapt to evolving technologies. Educate developers and manual testing engineers on using new frameworks that facilitate the usage of automated testing for the Android mobile apps.
Continuous Integration : Integrate automated tests into our CI/CD pipelines for seamless and frequent testing of Android applications.
Collaboration : Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and quality assurance engineers to identify test requirements and ensure a pragmatic approach to testing. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Participates in project meetings to ensure the smooth running of the project.
Test Strategy : Develop test strategies, test plans, and test cases to support comprehensive testing of Android applications. This includes UI tests with mocked Network, Screenshot testing, E2E testing etc.
Defect Management : Identify and report defects with clear and actionable details, and work collaboratively to prioritize and resolve them. Track the reported issues/errors/defects and the corresponding corrective actions.
Performance Optimization : Identify and address performance bottlenecks and stability issues in Android applications.
Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for test scripts, frameworks, and processes. Analyze automated testing results and prepare reports, checklists and recommendations for applications improvement.
Research and Innovation : Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying pragmatic solutions to improve automated testing practices.
Autonomy : Work independently on medium to high complexity tasks and offer guidelines for colleagues in writing and executing efficient test cases & creating test automation strategies. Prioritize and estimate tasks efficiently, ensuring that scheduled launches happen according to planning. Help more junior team members with their time estimations if needed.

*Qualifications & Skills *
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as a Test Automation Engineer with a focus on Android and Espresso.
Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks, tools, and best practices.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java or Kotlin.
Familiarity with mobile app development and debugging tools.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Pragmatic approach to testing, balancing thoroughness with efficiency.
Ability to work independently in a team environment.
Experience of working and thriving in a global matrix organization is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
