Job Summary
The Sales Development Representatives role is to seek new business opportunities by researching, contacting and qualifying potential customers, selling TravelCenters of America’s programs, targeting fuel sales and Truck Service sales by establishing, developing and maintaining strong business and customer relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains and grows new business in assigned territory by understanding customer needs and determine how TA products and services meet those needs
Maintains customer database and robust pipeline by qualifying leads as sales opportunities and documenting everything in Salesforce
Researches companies and contact potential customers through cold calls and emails
Negotiates contracts and agreements to maximize profits
Expedite the resolution of customer issues and complaints to maximize satisfaction
Works closely with Billing, Customer Service, Credit, Field Operations and Truck Service to resolve customer issues
Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within scheduled timeframe
Represents TA at Trade Shows and Company sponsored seminars, meetings and training programs
Reports to the inside sales manager on (weekly/monthly/quarterly) results
Stays up-to-date with new products/services and plans
Monthly supplies management with monthly highlights reporting on wins/losses, customer needs, industry trends/news and competitive activities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
Two or more years of Sales/Customer Service experience required
Must have strong communication, selling and negotiation skills both written and verbal
Sales results-driven/target driven
Proven work experience in B2B Sales, Retail Sales, Inside Sales, Call center, or similar role
Previous experience developing leads and meeting sales quotas with an understanding of sales performance metrics.
Ability to navigate and effectively communicate both vertically and horizontally within TA and our customers.
Able to clearly present our company to potential customers and touch on all our products/services
Excellent computer and technical skills and familiarity with MS Excel
Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)- (Preferred but will train)
Able to function independently, as well as working effectively in a team environment
Able to effectively communicate with levels of personnel within your customer base including Senior Level Management decision makers
