This position provides financial support to programs in Norfolk, VA. This is a contingent opportunity projected to start April 2024.
Primary Functions:
Support Manager in technical writing and development
Lead weekly status report meeting documenting accomplishments, planned actions, and roadblocks
Writes, validates and update training material, end user documentation, operations manuals and technical user guides.
Performs interviews to gather information to be documented.
Work in partnership with the development team in evaluation of documentation needs.
Possesses a minimal understanding of the technical aspects of products and systems for which documentation is prepared.
Establishes, develops, and documents business technical information, processes and procedures.
Education/Experience/Skills:
Associate degree or High School Diploma or GED.
Six (6) years with degree or ten (10) years with HS/GED of experience developing, writing, and editing as a Technical Writer supporting DoD.
Experience completing writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
Experience reviewing published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.
Experience performing the following tasks:
Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
Select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.
Assist in laying out material for publication, arrange for typing, duplication, and distribution of material, write speeches, articles, and public or employee relations releases, edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or plant personnel.
All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
