  PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Under general direction of the Manager, IT Server Core, IT Infrastructure and guidance from the Director, IT Infrastructure, the Senior System Administrators responsibilities include managing server, storage, and virtualization technologies for Alameda Alliance for Health. In this role, the Senior System Administrator will interface directly with internal and external customers as well as vendors as needed, participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure; ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff and business partners. Documentation of systems related projects are a significant part of the Senior System Administrators responsibilities.

  Additional responsibilities include functioning as Tier 3 support for the Information Technology Service Desk by responding to requests for assistance with computer problems and maintenance of the physical security and operating environment of the computer room. A vital component of this position is a proactive approach to the development and enhancement of the procedures and methodologies to achieve optimum performance, delivery, and continuity of the IT Infrastructure department.

  Responsibilities Include:

  Manage production systems including backups, performance tuning, fault resolution, capacity planning, and root cause analysis across multiple sites, platforms and operating systems.Manage On-prem and Cloud infrastructure systems and services. Including but not limited to Exchange (hybrid), Office 365, Azure, Active Directory, server, storage and network.Manage and support Mission Critical application(s), which includes regular meetings with third-party vendors in preparation for incident response, upgrades and maintenances.Manage the corporate VMware environment across multiple locations, including sever hardware, storage, configuration, licensing, monitoring, capacity, and performance management.In cooperation with the Manager, IT Server Core, IT Infrastructure, actively seek out opportunities to leverage new technologies and/or existing resources to provide efficiencies, optimizations, and cost savings.Improve the efficiency, ease of management, and performance of the existing infrastructure through discovery, evaluation and testing, and comparing against industry best practices.Validate all Service Desk projects and implementations.Provide regular status updates on projects, including progress updates and identification of technical risks and issues associated with them.Improve the efficiency, ease of management, and performance of the existing infrastructure through discovery, evaluation and testing, and comparing against industry best practices.Maintain IT disaster recovery planning and documentation.Adhere and assist in IT compliance audits.Coordinate and execute after-hours maintenance activities. Participate in an on-call rotation.Travel to remote office as needed for support.Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  EDUCATION OR TRAINING EQUIVALENT TO:

  


Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred or equivalent work experience.Certification as a Microsoft Certified Engineer (MCSE) desired.Certification as a VMware Certified Professional (VCP) desired.MINIMUM 10 YEARS OF ADDITIONAL RELATED EXPERIENCE:

  Microsoft Active DirectoryBuilding, managing, maintaining, upgrading VMware environments.O365 including Exchange Online, EMS E3 with advanced security, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Compliance Center, Intune, Conditional Access, etc.Managing and supporting Azure environment.Supported custom software development.Network administration.SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, ABILITIES, LICENSE):

  Experience supporting 300+ users across multiple locations/OS/platforms.Experience with scripting and automation tools, including Windows and Exchange PowerShell.Cisco Email security appliance - Highly desirable.Cisco UCS blade Infrastructure - Highly desirable.All-flash array storage: PURE - Highly desirable.Cisco firewalls and switches - Prior experience desirable.Systems Center Configuration Manager - Prior experience desirable.Experience with the following technologies:Systems monitoring tools: SolarWindsBackup solutions: Veeam and CommVaultDisaster Recovery solution: ZertoSingle Sign On: OKTAWeb proxy security: BlueCoatTurbonomicExpert knowledge of Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems.Experience with MS SQL database and system administration.Working knowledge of Unix and Linux operating systems.Direct knowledge and experience on different system backup strategies.Direct experience working with network servers, routers, firewalls, switches, VPN concentrators, and other network technologies.Solid understanding of network security, industry standard security protocolsSolid operational experience with security issues and access control mechanisms to prevent unwanted access.Strong interpersonal and communications skills. The person in this position must be able to integrate and communicate clearly and easily with other team members, as well as with end-users at all levels.Experience with ITIL processes and methodologies to improve incident handling and service requests desired.Strong interpersonal skills, mature judgment and diplomacy required to interact effectively with a broad spectrum of people, both individually and in groups.Ability to balance SLAs vs. frequently changing priorities and tasks.Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies.SALARY RANGE $136,119.77-$204,179.66 ANNUALLY
