Position Specific Description
This position is responsible for developing customer relationships for NextEra Retail, the competitive energy unit of NextEra Energy Resources. We are looking for a Retail C&I Sales Representative to help build out NextEra’s large retail C&I sales team. In this role, you will identify new prospects and execute customer sales plans to grow our diverse offering of energy solutions, including C&I retail products, grid-level energy products, distributed generation (incl. renewables), behind-the-meter storage, and fleet mobility. Your sales strategy will blend self-sourced direct and channel sales opportunitieswith efforts aided by NextEra’s in-house energy optimization software that provides clients with next-gen energy analytics and optimization. Individuals are responsible for developing the deal structure and working with the different desks to develop pricing. Originators oversee, guide, and negotiate the contract to be signed between NextEra and the counterparty and are also responsible for selling the deal internally, navigating a rigorous vetting process to gain approval. This position finally executes the structured transaction by gaining input from several departments, such as Pricing, Supply, Legal, Credit, and Billing. A vital part of this role will be working with other C&I Sales teams within the broader NextEra organization. This position will focus on large C&I clients in any competitive market territory.
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years related considerable C&I sales experience with expertise in retail energy pricing, C&I contract structuring, and experience selling or working with many of the energy solutions described above. Position location is flexible (remote) but must be within a competitive market territory. They are ideally located in Houston, Dallas, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago or New York City. Travel required.

Employees will see the sales cycle through from start to finish – from sourcing clients, structuring deals with creative solutions, and contracting.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Communicates directly with potential customers and front-line originators to gain an understanding of customer needs in order to propose solutions, and/or negotiate deal structures and documents that meet those needs
Analyzes and develops different structures for the customer including risk mitigation solutions to ensure risks are appropriately managed and quantified
Oversees, guides, and negotiates the contract and related documents that will be signed between the Company and the counterparty
Prepares presentations and other internal communications for senior leadership to guide and support the internal vetting process
Coordinates with internal departments involved in the transaction such as Pricing, Legal, Credit, Accounting, Risk Management, and Trading Group
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
