Job Description
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be providing technical support to Oracle Service customers for problem resolution related to their Oracle equipment. This could include: - Providing post-sales, Hardware support or facilitating resolution mediating between Oracle Technical Support teams and the customer in a timely manner as applicable. - When necessary, advancing calls to the appropriate level of support with complete and accurate information.
Knowledge of RAID storage concepts and protocols (iSCSI, SCSI, FC). Windows, Linux and Solaris is required. AIX knowledge is beneficial
Good understanding of networking concepts including Linux, TCP/IP, network interfaces, aggregation and virtualization, NFS, SMB Network Protocol, Naming services, network security, Infiniband, ethernet, and fabric switches
Displaying and maintaining a high level of professional behavior at all time
Assisting to ensure Customer Satisfaction goals are met
Documenting resolutions to assist with possible future problem resolution
Effectively prioritizing feature work and managing list of outstanding customer queries
Acting as a technical resource to peers as needed to help resolve customer problems for your area of expertise
Communicating confidently with Sustaining and Product Development Engineers on technical issues
Using remote support tools for live debugging and issue resolution
Work closely with all levels of customers external and internal
Willing to work in shifts or be capable of occasionally serving "weekend on-call"
Provide support for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) ZS OCI Marketplace, ZFSSA PCA
Working with virtualization in Oracle Cloud technologies such as Kubernetes, containers, and object storage solutions
Technical degree - BS Computer Science/Management Information Systems/Science/ Engineering/Math/Physics/ Chemistry OR functional degree + technical higher degree
In lieu of degree may substitute 4 years professional experience and professional certification (i.e., CNE, MCSE, CPA, Oracle, etc.)

As a Senior Support Engineer, you will offer strategic technical support to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. A main focus is to create/apply automated technology and instrumentation to diagnose, document, and resolve/avoid customer issues. You are expected to be a chipping in member of the technical problem solving/problem avoidance team, routinely sought after to address extremely complex, critical customer issues.

US: Hiring Range: from $21.59 to $60.63 per hour; from $44,900 to $126,100 per annum. May be eligible for equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
