Engineer V, Software – SRE
The Engineer V is a senior-level technical leader responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Omnicell's public cloud offerings and infrastructure. They are responsible for ensuring that the platform meets the company's SLOs, is observable, and are easily released and maintained. They will also work with other engineering teams to ensure that the platform is cost-effective and scalable.
Responsibilities:
Develop and apply state-of-the-art tools and procedures needed to reach the desired SLOs for the Omnicell Platform.
Exhibit expert knowledge in the creation and implementation of platform observability concepts.
Provide architectural design oversight for Omnicell's platform infrastructure to facilitate product support.
Design and execute architectural and procedural roadmaps for CI/CD pipelines.
Construct software release and configuration management methods to enhance Omnicell delivery capabilities.
Lead the infrastructure-as-code (IaC) architecture for automated delivery of platform services, making them available for globally distributed teams at Omnicell.
Define and implement a robust incident response management process.
Responsible for ensuring cloud cost parameters are strictly adhered too, while continually looking for ways to reduce overall cloud spend.
Possess expert knowledge about all aspects of public cloud platforms to provide support and address escalation issues.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for supporting cloud-native platforms.
Cooperate with application and business stakeholders to ensure the development and deployment of high-quality products.
Collaborate efficiently with other engineering teams to validate release processes crucial for achieving business objectives.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on public cloud computing and infrastructure.
Expert knowledge and architectural proficiency on at least one of the major public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
Expert programming skills in Python, Ansible, and other object-oriented programming languages.
Experience implementing CI/CD for cloud native applications using tools like Jenkins or CodeFresh
Experience implementing IaC concepts using Terraform, Chef, Puppet.
Advanced knowledge in Platform Orchestration using Docker, Helm, Kubernetes.
Experience working with Infrastructure and Application Monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog, etc
Experience implementing secure and compliant Kubernetes platforms.
Experience deploying and managing stateful distributed service in Kubernetes.
Experience implementing secure techniques related to Regulatory Compliance (FedRamp, HiTrust, HIPAA) a plus
Experience with various messaging systems, such as Kafka, Nifi or RabbitMQ highly desired
Work Conditions:
Corporate office/lab environment.
Ability to travel 10% of the time.
