　　This at-will position is wholly or partially funded by contractual grantfunding which is renewed under provisions set by the grantor of thecontract. Employment will be contingent upon the continued receipt ofthese grant funds and satisfactory job performance.

　　Job Summary

　　Software Engineers in Test are responsible for designing andimplementing automated test tools to verify software and systembehavior; testing functionality prior to each release on each tier (QA,Staging, Production, etc); testing the product to verify compliance withtechnical specifications and policy requirements, identifying necessaryteams to participate in addressing defects to successfully complete thetest phase; contributing to the master test plan and strategy byidentifying appropriate test techniques and tools that ensure productquality and test completion; develop the test case documents accordingto the master test plan/strategy; facilitating triage of defects andassisting in defect investigation and escalation; and walking throughtest results with the team and communicating status to management andproject leadership.

　　Responsible for priority technical tasks and timely delivery of suchtasks, meeting the required level of quality.Participation in complex and challenging activities, includingdesign and implementation.Provide support and maintenance for existing applications.Provide technical mentorship to interns and onboarding staff andtechnical leadership in technical initiatives.Actively participate in the hiring process and provide fair andproductive interview feedback.Elaborate on technical solutions internally and externally whenrequired.Investigates, analyzes and resolves day-to-day technical problemsusing standard procedures.Works with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements fordevelopmental programs. Receives a moderate level of guidance todesign applications to meet University and business requirements.Performs code testing on components and works to ensure thatappropriate implementation standards are met. Evaluates designalternatives for development cost and solutions using variousmethods.Supports and maintains existing applications. 　　Advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics,engineering, or a relevan quantitative field strongly preferred.Experience:

　　3+ years of professional experience as a software developer orsoftware engineer in test, or demonstrated skills and qualificationsthrough open source projects.Programming skills using Python (preferred), Golang/Javascript (aplus), or other languages like C/C++, Java, or C# with advancedskills in at least one of these languages.Experience designing and evaluating tests for web applications,APIs, and other backend applications.Experience with unit testing, test case development, automatedregression testing, and test frameworks (pytest, Cucumber, TestNG,JBehave, etc.).Experience with UX/UI testing and browser test automation (Selenium)and performance/load testing (LoadRunner, JMeter, Locust).Unix/Linux programming, open source, and version control experience.Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Openstack), CI/CD, andAgile methodologies.Preferred Competencies
