We build Fluent UI React (https://github.com/microsoft/fluentui). We are on a mission to take Fluent UI React forward into the future delivering an updated component library that provides smaller bundle size, faster render performance, and first-class accessibility.

　　We do this not alone, but in partnership with product teams across Microsoft. Fluent UI React is our path to enabling consistent and familiar user experiences across a broad set of Microsoft web applications. Our code ships in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, Teams, Planner, OneDrive, SharePoint, Loop, Viva and many other web applications.

　　We build in the open, value community contribution, and look to grow the community. Our community outside of Microsoft sees benefit in Fluent UI React as a product-proven library for building web experiences that behave in a familiar way and are easily themed to let their brand shine through.

　　We're looking for an experienced, customer driven, engineer who values collaboration, teamwork, and helping others succeed.

　　Responsibilities

　　This role will involve:

　　· Working on React components for the web. Our code is used in nearly every major Microsoft web app including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, Teams, Planner, OneDrive, SharePoint, Yammer, Dynamics, and others. · Contributing to the main Fluent 2 Design System website (https://fluent2.microsoft.design/)

　　· Working with the latest LLM technologies to achieve high levels of automation in code generation using our libraries and partner support

　　· Working with a variety of web development tools and contributing to these tools through the OSS community.

　　· Interacting with partner teams across Microsoft, as well as 3rd party customers, to integrate shared code and to understand requirements.

　　· Delivering robust and reusable solutions, and relentlessly striving to make those solutions better.

　　Qualifications

　　The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experiences:

　　· Good communicator who is passionate about building a friendly and fun work environment that enables inclusiveness, productivity, and learning

　　· 5+ years of development experience

　　· Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and React.

　　· Good knowledge of HTML/CSS, bonus for background in browser nuances or accessibility

　　· Enjoys working on the forefront of web technologies, motivating others to solve challenging problems, and demonstrates engineering excellence practices

　　· Experience owning and developing UX features end-to-end

　　· Knowledge and passion for OSS libraries and community

　　· BA or BS in Computer Science or related discipline preferred
