The Project and Planner Services Team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about working on high-scale geo-distributed services. As part of Microsoft’s vision of redefining work management in a hybrid & distributed workplace, we are building a new, truly modern project management tool. Microsoft Planner, Project & ToDo are the suite of apps and services that enable managing tasks and projects across work and life for our users. It has rich features like real-time collaboration, AI , Automation through power apps, Gantt charts, kanban boards etc. We are fast becoming THE hub for work management in Microsoft 365 with thousands of organizations and users using our tool.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to spearhead our efforts in building and optimizing our high-scale services based on Azure, service fabric and .NET. You will play a crucial role in a team that brings high code quality, problem solving, design and debugging skills to the table. You'll be using the latest and greatest technology stack including Service Fabric , C# (language of preference), Cosmos DB, Dataverse and more.

Responsibilities
Build and optimize reliable cloud services based on Azure and .NET
Tackle complex business problems collaborating with global stakeholders.
Coach team members on scalable design, lead code reviews and demonstrate live site culture.
Lead engineering excellence and best practices across the team and the organization.
Research and evaluate new technologies and trends and propose new ideas and solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.
6+ years of backend development experience building large-scale, reliable cloud services.
Experience on databases like Cosmos/CDS services would be preferred.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Passion for learning new skills and technologies and sharing them with others.
