Follow Us on LinkedIn: Donaldson's Aerospace and Defense group is looking for a Sr Engineering Manager I to lead our Development Engineering team. This role offers a unique opportunity to impact the future direction of technology use and the types of products developed within the Donaldson Aerospace and Defense group. The ideal candidate is self-directed and driven to lead a team in finding technology led solution for our customer's needs. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Lead the development of technology use within the Aerospace and Defense group by encouraging diverse thinking and productive debate within the team and leveraging the innovation within Donaldson. Prioritize and plan and the activity of the A&D central engineering functions including design, drafting, process development and utilization and lab management by coordinating with sales, product management, operations and other engineering functions. Coordinate with Product Management in understanding the technical needs of our customers and directing the development of unique solutions that solve those needs. Lead the communications and alignment with other technical groups within Donaldson to leverage existing technology in developing the optimum solutions for A&D customers. Directly represent or assign the representation of Donaldson within Aerospace and Defense industry technical committees. Promote the creation and utilization of IP and represent A&D team as the internal point of contact for IP and IP related interaction within Donaldson. Be a trusted engineering representative in customer-facing research meetings. Minimum Qualifications 10 years' experience in engineering, science or related fields Bachelor's degree in science or engineering Prior experience managing an engineering team Experience with Microsoft Office platform Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in engineering Technology assessment and intellectual property management experience (highly preferred) Stage gated product development and release experience Previous leadership role in Aerospace or Defense focused engineering activity Familiarity with AS9100, FAA PMA, Defense qualified products and related regulatory and validation requirements for Aerospace and Defense products and product development.
