  The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Simulation Hardware in the Loop Developer to join our advanced simulation framework team based out of Seattle, WA, Bellevue, WA, Everett, WA, Kent, WA, Renton, WA, Tukwila, WA, Auburn, WA, Portland, OR, Ogden, UT, West Jordan, UT, or Edwards AFB, CA.

  This team is responsible for development of simulation executive software, utilities and tools used to develop, build and execute complex vehicle simulations. These simulations are used interactively in the cloud, on engineering workstations and in hardware-in-the-loop test bench and flight deck environments. The simulation framework has components in Rust, C/C++, Python, C# and Java, and targets both Windows and Linux platforms.

  Position Responsibilities:

  Lead the design and implementation for a next generation hardware in the loop protocol definition and implementation

  Create organizational and industry standards, ensure compliance, and develop enterprise solutions

  Work with Lab and bench hardware, real-time simulation systems and I/O software expertise

  Document system architecture, design and operation

  Provide customer support, training, consulting, problem investigation and debugging

  This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.

  This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

  Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  5+ years of experience with development or real-time software or integration of embedded software onto hardware

  Experienced with programming in C/C++

  Experience with analog/digital signal processing

  Experience in real-time, near real-time, or embedded system

  Experience with the design, build and the maintenance of SIL (Software-in-the-loop) or HIL (Hardware-in-the-loop)

  Experience with presenting to technical, management and executive level audiences

  Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  Boost library experience

  Experience Lab and bench hardware and I/O software experience

  Enterprise standards (modeling, simulation, build processes)

  Multi-threaded application development in C++

  Python scripting experience

  Matlab/Simulink modeling

  Experience with bus protocols (A664, A429, A629, A825, etc)

  Experience with message traffic analysis and debugging

  Experience with containerized software and environments (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, Openshift)

  Experience working with virtual machine software (Virtual Box)

  Experience with Simulation frameworks

  Knowledge of airplane systems

  Typical Education/Experience:

  Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

  Relocation:

  Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

  Summary pay range: $122,440 - $177,100

  Export Control Requirements: U.S. Government Export Control Status: This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
