They will need to deeply understand security risks and clearly articulate them to technical and non-technical audiences alike.In addition to a strong understanding of security technologies, tool development, offensive and defensive security tactics, and ideally some experience with distributed systems, you'll need a number of other qualities to be successful in this role. We're a newly-formed dedicated security team, and we're building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship.Key job responsibilities- Create, update, and maintain threat models for a wide variety of games and tools- Design and implement security automation to improve our risk detection and remediation pipeline- Promote security best practices company-wide- Be a mentor for software developers and junior security peer- Seek out, develop, and advocate for new technology to identify and mitigate complex risks- Contribute to the development of the game security assessment capability (exploit research, training material, process improvement)- Support the Amazon Security team on Incident Response workflows related to Amazon GamesWe are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Irvine, CA, USA | San Diego, CA, USA | Seattle, WA, USA- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a security engineer performing security reviews/analysis/investigations, penetration testing, and/or incident response in the context of large organizations- Ability to read and write in at least one programming language- Experience building cloud-based software (preferably AWS)- Experience leading and coaching other security engineers- Experience with video game security, vulnerability research, and/or binary analysis- Experience with video game development- Experience building and securing complex cloud architecture (preferably AWS)- Excellent judgement in assessing and prioritizing technical risk- Awareness and understanding of current security threats, actors and their techniques- Ability to negotiate priorities across teams to achieve challenging goals and security debt reduction- Knowledge of game industry trendsOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
