At STM Journals, we collaborate with researchers to facilitate the publication of their impactful scientific discoveries, with a focus on rigorous peer review, ethics, and reproducibility. In support of our portfolio of 2700+ hybrid and open access scientific journals, you will actively contribute to advancing science, improving health outcomes, and fostering equitable participation in publishing.
About the Role
Cell Reports Sustainability publishes cutting-edge research in all areas of sustainability. You will work collaboratively with the Editor-in-Chief and fellow editors in all aspects of the organization and preparation of the journal. The editorial role will focus on sustainable materials, chemistry, technical solutions to sustainability issues and energy systems, but there will be opportunity to handle other areas of sustainability science.
Responsibilities
Assessing submitted research papers
Overseeing the peer review process
Establishing relationships with researchers
Recruiting exciting research studies and review material
Representing Cell Reports Sustainability and Cell Press at scientific meetings and visits to research institutions
Building effective working relationships with colleagues across Cell Press and beyond
Contributing to broader Cell Press initiatives to shape the future of science communication
Requirements
Have a PhD in a relevant discipline (Energy, material science, chemistry, technology, but must have been focused on sustainability)
Have broad interests, a love of science, and desire to learn.
Have a talent for clear communication
Be interested in digital communication and publishing trends
Be creative with a willingness to experiment, and desire to improve
Have the ability to organize, prioritize, and focus
Possess great interpersonal skills
To be considered for the Senior Scientific Editor position, extensive previous editorial experience is required, but if you wish to be consider for an Associate Editor position this is not necessary (training will be provided).
This is a full-time editorial position. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis. We are potentially open to flexibility in location .
