About Senior Sales Manager, UK National Security

  Description

  The role is to lead the National Security sales team within UK Public Sector. The successful candidate will lead the team focused on the UK National Security account. The team is a mix of established, experienced sellers and relatively inexperienced early career talent.

  The successful candidate will develop the relationship between AWS, the customer and a small group of highly engaged partner organisations, providing a contact point for them from the account team and more senior AWS managers. The high profile of this account means that there is significant involvement at SVP level and below across WWPS, Region Services and Amazon Security, requiring regular, detailed briefing.

  Key job responsibilities

  In addition to having a key role in leading the sales team and AWS exec relationships, the successful candidate will need to develop and maintain strong working relationships across various functional teams across AWS involved in the account.

  About the team

  In addition to direct leadership of four Account Managers, this account has 8 aligned Solution Architects and approximately 20-25 ProServe consultants working full time, as well as regular engagement with supporting functions such as Commercial, Legal, HR and specialist solution providers.

  • Earn Trust and Customer Obsession: It is important that the job holder has a good understanding of the challenges of working in this environment and the patience to work with a customer who does not always act swiftly

  • Hire & Develop the Best: The job holder should demonstrate a strong track record of working in small teams of mixed experience candidates

  • Have Backbone, Disagree and Commit: The successful job holder will need to act as a ‘critical friend’ to this customer, be willing to challenge their thinking and approach where necessary and act in the interests of the customer’s global Mission.

  • Invent & Simplify: The successful job holder will need to be able to find simple solutions to complex problems, leading the AWS team and their customer to adopt these solutions.

  Preferred Qualifications

  Due to the nature of the National Security customer, this role will need to be security cleared to DV+ level. As a result, current or recent previous clearance to this level would be extremely advantageous.
