ASRC Federal AFSS is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are seeking a Senior Project Support Specialist to support a NASA contract in Wallops Island, VA.
Summary:
Provides support for the Wallops Small Satellite and Special Projects Office – Code 850. Perform detailed project focused administrative support to the Code 850 Chief, Code 850 Deputy Chief, and the staff of the Code 850 Office.
Responsibilities:
Code 850 Project Support Management:
Provides accurate, timely support on Code 850 procedures, reports, requirements, and other matters necessary to implement Code 850 policies. Stay informed of issues, pending events, and priority of various items and their significance as they relate to Code 850 administrative management activities and responsibilities.
Prepare for and actively participate in multiple meetings including:
Bi-weekly schedule discussions with the Chief and Deputy Chief.
Weekly Code 850 staff meetings.
Monthly Code 850 portfolio status meetings.
Monthly Risk Board meetings.
Monthly travel meetings.
Meeting management
Coordinate and modify meetings scheduled on the Code 850 office calendar. Create and/or share PowerPoint presentations or other materials associated with the scheduled meetings.
Coordinate and modify meetings scheduled for multiple Code 850 work portfolios, and ensure that portfolio project reports are submitted for the meetings.
Coordinate with 850 staff to compose a draft Code 850 weekly program/project report for review. Finalize the report to be sent to the Code 100 Office of the Director.
Coordinate and complete all mission-critical domestic, foreign, invitational, and conference travel for the Code 850 Office. This includes making all travel arrangements, preparing authorizations, and completing expense reports—all while obtaining a current knowledge and understanding of the federal travel regulations.
Maintain Code 850 supply stock (using Store Stock and AMMS systems) and IT hardware/software supplies inventories.
Office file management
Maintains Code 850 office files, historical mission data base, and the program statistical data.
Maintain and update Code 850 work portfolio data repositories.
Handles IDMAX and badge requests for Code 850 domestic and international visitors.
Support the Code 850 grant management process as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned, including: note taking, preparing and tracking shipping forms, and coordination of Code 850 related events.
Additional responsibilities as required.
Requirements :
Proficiency in standard office products is required including office suite desktop applications such as Microsoft Outlook®, Word®, Excel®, and PowerPoint®.
Proficiency with common Web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc.
Ability to quickly act to changing environments and communicate a clear direction to employees and customers with urgency.
A strong ability to make sound decisions quickly utilizing analysis, experience, and judgment.
Ability to learn quickly and think critically to create innovative solutions for customer and employee needs.
Outstanding proactive customer service with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate customer needs by recognizing areas of opportunity and quickly provide solutions.
Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.
Education and Experience:
