Summary
Organizational Learning is the university's central department for professional, career and leadership development. We promote campus culture change initiatives, lifelong learning resources and opportunities for U-M faculty and staff. We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team.
Reporting to the Associate Director, you will lead the delivery, and execution of projects that align with multiple initiatives in Organizational Learning. These learning and development initiatives influence the university community - including Michigan Medicine, Dearborn, and Flint campuses - and require close collaboration with university leadership and partners, and our external vendors.
This role may be hybrid but will require some onsite work due to the collaborative nature of the team. Flexible work agreements, reviewed annually, are subject to change dependent upon the needs of the unit.
Responsibilities*
Serve as senior project manager in different organization-wide projects in the Talent Management and related space(s). Create project definitions, work breakdowns, rough order estimates, project plans, communication plans, project schedules & specifications, and instructional videos.
Use project management knowledge to assemble and lead project teams for medium and large projects that require collaboration across multiple departments across the university. Provide guidance and direction to other staff, specifically in areas of tools for project management.
Utilize extensive change management principles and techniques to encourage broad adoption of new technologies and approaches in the Talent Management space.
Manage the integration of vendor tasks and act as a liaison between vendors and university interests on large projects.
Utilize established benchmarks to inform project objectives, including engagement surveys and existing learning templates.
Identify important success factors and measurements for projects to ensure projects are delivered within scope and within budget by facilitating project meetings to communicate timelines, milestones, and updates. Rectify daily issues with the project team.
Lead the delivery of scalable roll out plans for large, diverse audiences which will include staff, faculty, medical personnel, and our clinicians.
Use collaborative approaches to develop and deliver scalable content to large audiences in remote environments
Ensure smooth transition of programs post-implementation by developing tools and methods for continuous improvement; communicating and training program managers.
Prepare written communications and presentations for a variety of audiences including senior leadership.
Implement interactive approaches to provide content virtually and in person.
Provide direction on the migration of current content into an integrated Talent Management system
Participate in professional development activities in the practice of project and portfolio management; research and recommend project management policies, principles, and practices.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, certification and experience
Minimum of 4 years demonstrated experience with large scale project management & change management
Demonstrated technical proficiency in utilization of platforms (Project Management software, talent management systems (performance management, professional/career development, onboarding, succession planning)
Proficiency in technical writing and editing skills
Additional Information
