DescriptionMachinist sets up and operates manually controlled machines including lathe, vertical mill, drill press, hydraulic press, saws and a variety of cutting tools and equipment, with the ability to produce quality precision components in a timely manner.Responsibilities of Position:Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements, including micrometers, dial gages, and threading wires.Uses precision tools, machinery, and equipment such as lathe, vertical milling, machine, drill press, hydraulic press, chop saw, band saw, and various cutting tools and equipment.Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures, and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment while maintaining a safe and clean working environment.Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.Other duties as assigned.Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:Ability to operate the following machines: Engine Lathe, Vertical Mill, Horizontal Mill, Drill Press, Band Saw.Ability to use the following machining tools: Micrometers - ID and OD. Calipers - Digital, Dial and Vermer. Thread Measuring Wires to Thread Diameter.
