Job Summary
Under minimal supervision the Senior Program Manager primarily supports thedevelopment of strategic initiatives and programs. They work with keystakeholders to set the vision, direction, workstreams, project plans,budgets, and deliverables for programs. The Senior Program Manager workswith project managers and workstream teams to develop project plans,timelines, and budgets. The Senior Program Manager is the internal owner anddriver of a wide variety of projects and initiatives within the department.They are responsible for the workflow, coordinating assignments, andcommunication of each project from inception to completion. This positionworks in close partnership with internal teams and external vendors to ensurethat all projects are delivered on budget and on schedule.
Essential Functions:
Facilitates direction setting and decisions making with strategic andoperational stakeholders for complex programs development and execution.(25%)Develops and manages complex program structures, governance models,schedules, budgets and resource plans. (25%)Partners with workstream and project managers to ensure optimal delivery andproject health, escalating issues and removing roadblocks when necessary andprovides oversight to for effective and timely execution of projects. (15%)Identifies potential risks, develops mitigation strategies, and recommendskey decisions for complex programs. (15%)Keeps leadership and other stakeholders informed of status and updates relatedto new and ongoing projects within the organization. (15%)Manages vendors associated with the program to ensure efficient and timelycompletion of programs and projects. (5%)Education:
Bachelor's Degree BA or BS RequiredWork Experience:
10+ years of relevant experience in strategic program management Required and4-6 years experience serving as and advisor to senior business leadersRequired and4-6 years experience with project management methodologies Required and1-3 years experience with coaching or mentoring other on day-to-daydevelopment and career progression RequiredLicenses:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven ability to lead complex programsDeep understanding of project management, ongoing milestone/deliverabletracking, and communicationProven ability to coordinate the efforts with internal and externalstakeholder, including senior and executive leadership teamsDemonstrated ability to facilitate strategic decision making
