Our water resources group work on projects ranging from water supply development, water supply management, water rights, mining hydrogeology, contaminant hydrogeology, regulatory permitting, and source water protection.Our clients ask us to address their most challenging problems involving the environment, natural resources, and civil infrastructure. You should expect to work closely with experienced professionals who will help integrate you into Geosyntec and Aspect's culture as you advance to this next stage of your career. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you'd work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help expand current firm practices and capabilities through business development and client management. You will be engaged in a wide range of permitting and technical duties within our water resources practice, with a focus on projects in the northwest. Building on your past work experience with mentorship from our senior staff, your typical responsibilities will include:Helping client and agency interactions under the mentoring of an Aspect Principal.Mentoring staff level water right professionals as part of your project team.Presenting technical information to state and local agencies and the public.Technical report writing.Reviewing and interpreting water right files and permitting documents relative to Montana State law, agency policies and guidance, and case law.Reviewing and interpreting water use data, including aerial photos, metering data, land use, and crop records.Conducting field investigations, including estimation of water use, well inspections, streamflow monitoring, and a range of related activities to support water resource projects.Performing simple to complex quantitative spreadsheet analyses.Performing a range of water right permitting activities including new and change applications.Helping implement water right purchases and sales through due diligence investigations.Supporting environmental permitting (e.g., NEPA, NPDES, and parallel state-administered programs).Assisting in hydrogeologic and engineering tasks related to water resource permitting projects.Here are some other things you should know about this position:Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license.Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions in rugged and sometimes remote field locations for extended periods of time.Must be able to travel long distances and accommodate occasional overnight travel. Travel is most often in central Washington, the greater Puget Sound area, and northern Oregon, Idaho, and western Montana.Must be able to operate cars, vans, and pickup
