　　Senior Optomechanical Design Engineer

　　Our Surveillance and Optics Mechanical Systems (SOMS) organization at Raytheon provides the joint warfighter with actionable information from an unblinking eye across the battlespace. 　　As a Senior Optomechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading efforts to produce cutting-edge components and subassemblies for our programs. This individual will be focused on hardware design and documentation, system build and integration, and delivery of high-quality hardware to the warfighter. The position is directly tied to development and delivery of precision EO/IR and High Energy Laser hardware designs under the guidance of the Integrated Product Team Lead and the Program Chief Engineer in McKinney, Texas.

　　You’re highly skilled in:

　　Optomechanical design and development

　　Solving technical challenges to meet budget and schedule allocations

　　3D hardware modeling

　　Required Education:

　　Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related field

　　You’re a great match with:

　　5 or more years professional experience in a production or design of electro-optical or Laser Systems

　　Ability to work to a defined budget/schedule and provide status

　　Excellent written and verbal communication skills

　　Design experience utilizing PTC Creo modeling software

　　Self-starter, able to manage time and resources to meet assigned deadlines

　　Demonstrated leadership experience

　　U.S. Citizenship required as the applicant must have the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance within the first year after start date

　　Typically requires:

　　A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

　　Engineering/Other Technical Positions:

　　Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

　　The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
