　　Position Summary:

　　Has administrative responsibility for nursing standards and practice regardless of the nurse's practice area or reporting relationship. Directs hospital nursing activities within the context of hospital policies and procedures. This position is accountable for the operations of the inpatient and out-patient nursing units and other defined ancillary departments and is responsible for the quality assessment, implementation, coordination and evaluation and standardization of system wide inpatient care.

　　Minimum EducationSuccessful completion of the Nursing Diploma Program or an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school is required.

　　Required Skills

　　At least three to five years’ experience at a nursing director level or greater. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Knowledge of nursing principles, theories and practice standards with verbal interpersonal and quantitative skills. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

　　*Certifications/License *

　　Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire. Requires a current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license upon hire.
