The Systems Engineer Manager is also responsible for providing support to NASA EGS and its Ground Ops contractor during the actual execution of the operational requirements. This involves working closely with NASA and its Ground Ops contractor and extensive coordination between the Lockheed Martin and MPCV hardware owners during the execution of the operations to ready the vehicle for flight.

  • Able to prepare and conduct briefings and participate in technical and programmatic meetings with internal and external high level representatives

  • Manage contract scope through the Contract Change Request and Special Task Order process

  • Planning and formulating programs and organizing project staff according to program needs

  • Experience working with the NASA customer

  Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with the NASA Kennedy Space Center and cross-programs integration

  • Experience in the decomposition of vehicle requirements into operational requirements

  • Understanding of the Operational Requirements (OMRS) used by NASA for vehicle processing

  • Vehicle Systems level experience of the Orion vehicle

  • Orion vehicle avionics and flight software knowledge

  • Launch system integration including both the ground systems and flight elements

  • Experience in the identification and management of the support equipment required for spacecraft ground processing

  • Control Account Management (CAM) and/or Earned Value Management (EVM) experience

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and behaviors that align with the Full Spectrum Leadership Imperatives
