Senior Manager Software Development Engineering

What you will do

In this vital role you will responsible for leading and charting the course for the Clinical Trial Data and Analytics (CTDA) product team that builds and transforms technology capabilities that positively impacts business outcomes. This individual will be responsible for developing and leading a highly talented team that is built for delivering high-end and innovative technologies.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading technology-driven projects within the Information Systems domain, with a strong focus on building data foundations and advancing Advanced Analytics and GenAI/BI capabilities to enhance the clinical operations ecosystem. This individual will play a pivotal role in enabling innovation, scalability, and operational excellence in the biotechnology industry by delivering seamless and efficient end-to-end solutions. Proficiency in designing robust data foundations, managing complex integration projects, and ensuring compliance with GxP standards is essential.

A deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, Scaled Agile methodologies, and technical solution design is key. The candidate will work closely with multi-functional and global teams to drive organizational strategic initiatives, streamline processes, and ensure high-quality outcomes in a matrixed environment.

Roles Responsibilities:

Work with Product Owners, Service Owners and/or delivery teams to ensure that delivery matches commitments, acting as a partner concern point and facilitating communication when service commitments are not met

Lead and be accountable for the Agile Product team supporting Clinical Trial Data Analytics (CTDA) capabilities, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.

Design and implement robust data foundations, including new interfaces, workflows, and data models, to enable seamless integration of clinical systems and efficient clinical data reporting.

Lead the strategy and implementation of Advanced Analytics and BI solutions using tools like Power BI, Tableau, Looker, and SQL to drive data-driven decision-making.

Leverage AI-driven technologies, including machine learning, NLP, and GenAI, to enhance analytics capabilities and automate insights generation.

Design and oversee scalable data visualization, predictive modelling, and self-service BI frameworks to support enterprise-wide adoption and operational efficiency.

Lead impact assessments to evaluate changes to existing systems, proposing solutions to align with business needs and future opportunities.

Collaborate with geographically dispersed teams to ensure alignment across global operations, driving operational excellence in a matrixed organization.

Understand workflows, decision-making processes, and information needs of collaborators, contributing to defining business outcomes and technology solutions.

Ensure rigorous testing, compliance, and successful deployment of integrations into production environments.

Actively participate in leadership meetings, collaborating across functional groups to deliver high-quality results that meet organizational objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

Master’s degree with 8 - 10 years of experience in Business, Engineering, IT or related field OR

Bachelor’s degree with 10 - 14 years of experience in Business, Engineering, IT or related field OR

Diploma with 14 - 18 years of experience in Business, Engineering, IT or related field

Demonstrated experience in managing technology initiatives and teams with a track record of successful innovation

Expertise in Advanced Analytics and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, SQL) and AI-driven technologies (machine learning, NLP, GenAI) to drive data-driven decision-making and enterprise-wide insights.

Experience with data analysis, data modeling, and data visualization solutions such as Tableau and Spotfire

Have strong business insight. Can demonstrate deep understanding of industry, therapy and product

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a leadership role within a pharmaceutical or technology organization

Extensive experience in the software development lifecycle.

Experience using and adoption of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Broad working knowledge of key IS domains and layers
