Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Manager handling Materials,Planning & SIOP at the Vergennes, VT location! The Senior Manager willmanage, lead and execute manufacturing operations. Leads teams insupport of deployment of manufacturing Operating System throughoutMission Systems which will lead to best-in-class performance.
Job Description:
Leads scheduling for the unit or shift to ensure that operations runaccording to established production schedules
Heads materials and logistics problem resolution for the unit or shiftto ensure availability of materials and smooth operations
Manages cost reduction efforts and process improvements for the unit orshift to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness
Leads the sequencing of work, such as build and delivery, for the unitor shift to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of resources
Establishes performance objectives and leads cell performance andproductivity. Leads production innovation, including additivemanufacturing, for the unit or shift to enhance production capabilities
Partners with customers to understand customer needs and issues andensure that the customers receive satisfactory standards of services
Direct, lead and execute the long- and short-term strategy to ensuresustainable results that meet or exceed financial and operationaltargets
Ability to influence and communicate across all levels of theorganization; may include external customers or vendors
Plans/facilitates the tactical application of advanced CORE/CI or otherlean tools
Explains and develops policies, practices, and procedures
Role and Responsibilities:
Provides primary input into talent and resource management and rewardsdecisions for direct reports
Manages resources and leads/facilitates complexprojects/transformations/Events that cut across organizational,functional, and internal boundaries, with flexibility to determine howassignments are completed (e.g., objectives and approaches to completingwork)
Develops direct reports on soft skills and skills required toplan/facilitate the tactical application of advanced CORE/CI or otherlean tools
Establishes operational plans in support of policy deployment goals andinitiatives for the organization
Accountable for establishing metrics and ensuring targets are metincluding event/project closure results achieved
Drives/Facilitates resolution of difficult or complex problems andmanages closure actions
Problems faced may be difficult to moderately complex
Drives/develops and manages improvement and implementation of currentand new processes and standards that will have impact on the achievementof functional results
Coaching, mentoring, and training individuals and organizations withinthe business on their CORE & CI journey
Interface directly with Executives/Management to positively influenceand lead CORE/CI culture and competency improvement across theorganization.
Develops methods for identifying, sharing, and implementing bestpractices across the organization
Measures and drives CORE/CI progression across the organization
Facilitates/Sponsors kaizen/CI events including leadership weeks
Successfully builds networks across the organization and discipline
Identifies knowledge gaps across the organization and establishes aclosure plan
Qualifications / Experience Needed:
Typically requires University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevantexperience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 yearsof experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized toaccess information under this program/contract
