  The Team

  As part of the Scotiabank’s Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC), the Data Loss Monitoring team is responsible for protecting Scotiabank’s assets and data globally. This involves managing a team that will accomplish 24/7 security monitoring and triage of events related to the sensitive and confidential data that the bank manages. This is accomplished through joint ventures / strategic alliances and third-party arrangements, ensuring that customer information continues to be protected. 

  The Role

  Reporting to the Director, of Cyber Security Operations Centre, the Senior Manager, Data Loss Monitoring (LATAM) is a member of a team responsible for the ongoing implementation of security controls to mitigate ongoing data security risk involving the loss or exposure of Scotiabank informational assets. They are responsible for managing and providing advisory and technical knowledge in the development, implementation and improvement of solutions to protect Scotiabank’s informational assets from loss or exposure.

  Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  You possess advanced communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English and Spanish.

  You have at least 5 year of hands-on technical working experience in any of the following: network security, information security, and/or network support.

  You have developed capabilities in prioritizing and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner and provide oversight and training to other less experienced team members.

  You have a working knowledge of various network principles, cyber security concepts, investigation procedures, and adversary techniques.

  You have strong analytical and problem resolution skills.

  You have broad knowledge of common cyber adversaries, attack vectors, intrusion tactics, and attacker tools.

  You have experience in analyzing and interpreting data from multiple sources, documenting the results and providing meaningful analysis reports and briefings.

  Post-secondary education in Computer Science or in a related field.

  Security certifications (e.g. GSEC, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, CompTIA Networking+, ITIL CEH, and OSCP) would be an asset(s).
