Position Summary
The Planner/Scheduler is responsible for increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of the maintenance department operations to support continuous improvement of the manufacturing process, short -term and long -term strategic planning/execution and the achievement of plant accountabilities and key performance indicators (KPI's).
Responsibilities
Collaborate with plant leadership teams to ensure alignment with strategic intentions to ensure a safe work environment, environmental conformance/compliance, cost management, while providing superior quality products and services to continually improve customer satisfaction managed through a systematic approach.
Provides information and collaborates with the supervisor team to determine department capacity for scheduling and controlling overtime based on staffing and department demands.
Resolves issues by researching data with multiple systems and using strong problem-solving skills. This requires an understanding of the IT system architecture and key interfaces
Establishes and maintains accurate equipment specifications, info, part lists, BOMs, etc.
Maintains the integrity of the PM program and equipment history by comparing planned to actual results on work orders. Checks PMs for updates and forwards to supervisor as needed to change procedures were inaccurate, inefficient or ineffective.
Coordinates planned activities between maintenance, production, GES, materials, etc.
Coordinates parts, tools, equipment availability, drawings, contractors, etc prior to the start of job (Kitting a job).
Prepares and distributes daily schedules for all shifts – provides explanations to mechanics as needed. Conducts Friday schedule review with the weekend crew. Very active in department shift meetings to understand the activity that commenced and following up on deviations to schedule.
Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
