About Senior HR Specialist, Talent Experience, Amazon Entertainment

  Description

We strive to enable an environment for our Amazon Entertainment employees where they can find personal growth and satisfaction from doing their best, most meaningful work to delight our customers – and the way we do that within Entertainment may be a little different from other parts of Amazon.

  About the Business:

This role is part of the Amazon People eXperience and Technology (PXT) organization – we build a workplace for Amazonians to invent and deliver on behalf of customers. PXT for Amazon Entertainment supports a portfolio of entertainment businesses that span film, TV, live sports, music, podcasts, games, audiobooks, livestreaming, and other media content. The Entertainment PXT team focuses on the inputs that attract, grow, and retain creative, technical, and business talent at scale. We customize for unique Entertainment business and industry needs where necessary, and scale where possible and applicable. Our Entertainment employees deliver world-class products and services for playing, listening, watching, and streaming in an ever-immersive entertainment environment.

  About the Team:

This Senior HR Specialist will be part of the Entertainment PXT Talent Experience Team. Our purpose is to create and deliver talent programs that help us be Earth’s Best Employer by focusing on the employee experience – from joining Amazon Entertainment, to building connection with each other and our customers, through growing personally and professionally, to being empowered to balance fun, wellness, and learning to sustain a long, fulfilling career with Amazon.

  About the Role:

This Senior HR Specialist will create and support the delivery of talent structures and processes that allow us to have the best organizational mechanisms for org health, org effectiveness, and job architecture (including correct job codes and role guidelines). The right person for this role needs to find excitement in dealing with a high level of ambiguity and feel comfortable operating in a space without a lot of existing structure, with a passion for putting structure in place.

The person in this role must have strong ownership, grit, and drive for results, with expertise in program management with flawless execution. This person will understand how to make high judgment decisions to influence a wide range of business and HR executives, while balancing data driven analysis with creativity. This role will suit a strong written and verbal communicator, who must have the ability gather business requirements, facilitate discussions among senior leaders, and partner with the various stakeholders to plan, implement, and improve solutions.

  A Little More About Location:

This is a role that requires minimum 3 days a week in the office, as we believe it is easier to learn, model, practice, and strengthen our culture when we’re in the office surrounded by our colleagues. Most of the executive clients and partners of this role are located in Seattle and Culver City, so if the person in this role is based in Arlington, this role will require regular travel (about once in 4-6 weeks) to Seattle and Culver City.

  Key job responsibilities

As our businesses continue to evolve how they best delight our customers, we continue to inspect how we help them be most impactful through organizational effectiveness and job architecture.

The first area the person in this role will go deep in is Job Architecture. The uniqueness of our Entertainment businesses, as compared to other businesses at Amazon, requires niche talent in certain roles to deliver for our customers. This creates an opportunity for our team to focus on having our jobs accurately capture the work done in these Entertainment tech, non-tech, creative, and business roles, with clear job descriptions, role guidelines, and other supporting structure and resources to support employee growth and career development.

For organizational effectiveness, the person in this role will partner with central Amazon Talent and HRBP leaders to support the inspection of organizational health through metrics to identify potential areas of opportunity in organizational design, and help assess the impact of changes made.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Arlington, VA, USA | Culver City, CA, USA | Seattle, WA, USA

  Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Strong written communication skills

  Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in creating new jobs, new job codes, and/or role guidelines

  • Experience in partnering with Compensation leads to identify solutions to address job architecture challenges (e.g., creating new jobs, aligning requirements of jobs to roles, aligning compensation expectations of job roles)

  • Experience in program management of complex projects, with knowledge of program management lifecycle and project management tools

  • Experience working in Entertainment or Tech industries

  • Master’s degree Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and/or an MBA
