Job Summary:
Space Systems provides a broad set of capabilities across domains to ensure customers have the right data at the right time to make the right decisions.
We build advanced space-based sensors for capabilities such as weather prediction, missile launch detection and tracking, and left-of-launch intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. We offer solutions for multi-domain sense-making, mission constellation management and command and control, constellation management, and automated multi-INT data analytics and intelligence production.
We are seeking Senior Ground Systems Java Software Engineer Engineering professionals to work in Aurora, Colorado.
This position is an onsite role.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Design and develop sophisticated software for state-of-the-art satellite ground systems, including space network ground segments and global user interfaces.
Play a pivotal role in the operational success of new advanced satellites focused on intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance for diverse clients.
Engage in the entire software lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Utilize and enhance your skills in Multi-Tiered Architectures, Amazon Web Services, Geospatial Visualization Tools, Digital Engineering, and Automation Frameworks to support advanced spacecraft missions.
Collaborate in a modern DevSecOps environment, employing Agile methodologies to deliver high-quality software solutions efficiently.
The ability to obtain and maintain a SCI U.S. security clearance
Work onsite in a SCIF. Flexible work schedules available to include 5/40, 9/80, or 4/10 in Aurora, CO.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of software engineering experience.
Experience with software design/ development using Java or C+
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in object-oriented analysis and design
Experience with Agile development
Experience working with applications in the AWS Cloud
Experience with microservices using Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Development
Experience with one or more areas of satellite ground system software such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, or flight dynamics models.
Experience with object-oriented software design and development using Java in a Linux environment.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
