As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in managingexciting and technically challenging projects ranging from major highwayimprovements to substations, transmission lines and renewable energyprojects. Responsibilities include planning field programs, conductingtechnical briefings with field staff, and project management tasksincluding budgeting and client communications. You will also beresponsible for performing and overseeing engineering analyses andpreparing technical reports, as well as conducting occasional sitevisits, and overseeing field explorations and construction observations.As a senior engineer, you will also be responsible for mentoring andoverseeing the work of junior staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leads all project management tasks such as developing budgets andscopes, client billings, field report reviews, contract reviews, andproposal development. Partners with Principals and Associates toensure effective execution of multiple projects.Serves as a technical resource for clients and project staff;provides guidance and expertise to solve complex challenges.Develops complete and accurate field reports, figures, tables, etc.,that require minimal edits or revisions.Reviews deliverables from staff and mid-level employees such asfield reports, calculations, analyses, etc. Mentors junior staffrelative to technical skills, consulting best practices, etc.Leads business-development activities such as identifying potentialnew clients, attending conferences or professional associationmeetings, etc.Leads and/or coordinates the development and implementation of fieldexploration programs and construction projects. Ensures that workperformed is consistent with project plans and specifications and inaccordance with safety guidelines.Completes engineering analyses and calculations. Develops complexconceptual models (i.e. numerical modeling, hydraulic/hydrologicmodeling, etc.)Completes complex spatial analyses (e.g. contours, clipping,buffering).Develops project deliverables related to GIS data such as maps,database organizations, etc.Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master\'s degreein Geotechnical or Geological Engineering strongly preferredMinimum 6 years of relevant experience requiredMinimum 4 years of project management experiencePE license requiredProfessional-level verbal and written communication skillsValid drivers licenseMust be able to engage in site visits which can include repetitiouslifting of loads up to 40 pounds in weight and hiking over strenuousterrain in varying weather conditionsMust also be able to travel locally and long distances to serviceclients, perform business development activities and visit variousGeoEngineers offices as necessaryPhysical Requirements/Work Environment

This includes identifying potential safety hazards andreporting them to the designated project manager in a timely mannerand participating in project safety briefings. This also includeswearing appropriate safety equipment when working in the field andcompleting all re uired health & safety training prior to beginningfieldwork.Our best estimate of the salary range for this position, located inBoise ID, is \$98,930 - \$127,110. Compensation offered will be based ona variety of individual factors, including education and experience, aswell as internal equity. GeoEngineers salary ranges are reviewed andupdated each year and employees are eligible for pay increases based onindividual performance. As part of our competitive total rewardspackage, employees in this role may also be eligible for our annualyear-end bonus offering, subject to program eligibility requirements.
