This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit. To further BlueOrigin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space,we are building the sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew andcargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface.
As part of a hardworking team of diverse spacecraft development engineers,you will lead the Flight Autonomy and Local Autonomy Application activities aspart of the Mentorship Navigation and Control (GN&C) team. Yourresponsibilities will include derivation and development of subsystemrequirements, algorithm development for use in flight software, andassociated analyses to see the product through the full lifecycle ofdevelopment including integration, testing, verification, andvalidation. In this role, you will use your experience to lead andparticipate in the implementation of on-board autonomy for mechanical,thermal, fluid, and gaseous control systems.
You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of theHuman Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program.You will play a key role in developing the Lunar system that will returnhumans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds ofE

Responsibilities:
Lead a mission-focused flight autonomy team.
Support architecture development, definition of GN&C mode states andtransitions, and concept of operations.
Derive and develop autonomy requirements, perform analyses and trades tovalidate requirements, and maintain subsystem specification, andperformance metrics.
Collaborate with GN&C and other subsystems and spacecraft systems engineersin the development of low- and high-fidelity plant models.
Support the development, and execution of simulations and tools required forverification of functionalities.
Use Matlab and Simulink to analyze, unit test, and verify control andautonomy algorithms.
