　　The Role: Senior Environmental Engineer

　　We are actively recruiting a Senior Environmental Engineer for our Istanbul office to work for projects funded by International Financial Institutions (IFIs) and other clients in Turkey. The candidate will support project teams in project assessment and capacity building activities related with Renewable Energy (RE), Energy Efficiency (EE), Resource Efficiency (ResEff), Circular Economy (CE), Climate Resilience (CR), Wastewater Treatment (WWT) and Water Treatment (WT), ensuring that environmental standards comply with those of the EU and/or IFIs such as EBRD.

　　Key Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

　　• Performing environmental studies and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) assessments for RE, EE, ResEff, CE, CR, WWT and WT projects;

　　• Identifying environmental and social risks of the investments to ensure that they comply with national and international standards such as those of IFIs including EBRD, IFC, etc;

　　• Monitoring and reporting measures of investments according to the environmental and social procedures;

　　• Supporting the assessment of ResEff, CE, and CR projects by identifying and quantifying environmental benefits;

　　• Conducting capacity building activities such as trainings for financial institutions (FI) and supporting FIs in the green product development;

　　• Performing Environmental & Social Gap Analysis (ESGA), Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP), Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP), Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS), Land Acquisition and Livelihood Restoration Plan (LALRP) and Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP) tasks for projects according to national and international standards;

　　• Performing environmental and social audits and conducting site visits for the purpose of compiling data, gathering information and conducting inspection when required.

　　Qualifications:

　　• BSc degree in environmental engineering

　　• Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g. environmental sciences, sustainability, circular economy, climate change, etc.) is preferable

　　• Minimum 10 years of experience in assessing environmental and social risks and impacts in the relevant sectors (e.g. sustainable energy and municipal water infrastructure);

　　• Proven knowledge on national and international requirements, including those related with environmental and social impact assessments

　　• Experience in ESIAs, E&S due diligence, ESGA, ESAP, health & safety, E&S management systems and plans, land acquisition, stakeholder engagement , in the relevant sectors

　　• Experienced in IFIs (such as EBRD) projects in related field is an asset

　　• Excellent command of English both written and spoken
