The team you will be a part of
The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.
This role in summary
System Integrator position for Laundry on Horizontal Axis platform, responsible to develop global projects, doing the systems integration of the core team and subsystems, following the Whirlpool Product Development process and Advanced Product Quality Planning.
This is a core leadership function on the development of new projects, responsible to ensure project development activities are completed on time, meeting all requirements coming out of the voice of the stakeholders such as: cost, quality and performance targets.
Responsible for system level design/cost/quality/time trade-offs and technical decision making for issue resolution within the project/product plan guardrails.
Responsible for driving full system validation through predictive validation methodologies in concept, design and product validation stages.
This opportunity is located in LAR, in the city of Rio Claro/SP/Brazil and it is part of the Global Product Organization responsible for the full product life cycle, from concept to retirement.
Your responsibilities will include
Manage/Release Engineering Bill of Materials (eBOM) based on project charter and architecture definition
Drive virtual simulations and physical prototypes as per V&V plan
Document the revision of parts used in builds using baselines
Ensure high contribution factors toward each function are designated as special characteristics
Drive the measurement and documentation of the special characteristics
Drive closure of dFMEA (design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) action plans and updated Occurrence and Detection, based on Concept and Design Validation data and functional performance stacks
Act as the technical project manager, coordinating subsystem development activities and the system integration
Lead technical design reviews for project to provide an assessment of whether the project is within the architecture/project/product plan guardrails by working with key development team members (e.g. Subsystem teams, V&V Strategist, Manufacturing, Procurement, Project Leader) and by consulting with key architecture development team members when necessary (e.g. Platform System Architect, Subsystem SMEs, V&V Strategist)
Manages system integration both in develop and regional execution phases
Manage decisions for design/cost/quality/time trade-offs and issues within the project/product plan guardrails
Minimum requirements
Engineering degree complete
Proven development and execution experience
Knowledge in given category (Horizontal Axis platform - Laundry)
Project management
System design
System integration
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence others
Technical coaching abilities
High level skills of systems thinking
English advanced or fluent
Preferred skills and experiences
Able to comunicate in Spanish desirable
