About the Role
Magna Steyr is looking for talented and experienced team members in complete vehicle development who are determined and passionate about developing the next level industry standard for vehicle architectures and production solutions. In the EE discipline, the Senior Engineer - Infotainment Integration is responsible to lead the engineering activities relating to the Development and Integration of the vehicle infotainment system and HMI. This position has a high level of responsibility and visibility and will interface with OEMs, Magna divisions, global module group teams and Tier 2 suppliers.
Your Responsibilities
Contribute to the Global Technical Area (GTA) strategy and growth of the engineering team
• Responsible for All EE activities related to Infotainment systems and HMI development
• Create and negotiate customer and technical requirements for Infotainment electronics
• Responsible for supplier identification, technical specifications, product design and release BOM
• Define KPIs, Safety goals (support FuSa team) for all Infotainment activities
• Responsible for OEM and magna KPI targets and assure the targets are achievable
• Own Infotainment and HMI activities from start to finish including packaging modules
• Develop Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R), complete testing to meet program timing
• Develop Design Failure Mode and Effects & Analysis (DFMEA) is complete to meet program timing
• Be responsible for designs meeting market region regulations, FMVSS, ECE, CNCA/GB, etc.
• Involve in all steps of system design V-cycle vehicle development process
• Support Technical Area (TA) core competencies and resolve issues in a timely manner
• Support and contribute to knowledge base of internal and external best practices
• Lead benchmarking studies and contribute to the benchmark knowledgebase
• Propose and lead advanced development topics supporting the GTA
• Propose continuous improvement opportunities to level up tools, and processes
• Lead design proposals with set-based engineering principles
• Lead designs with 6 Sigma design principles
• Support complex problem solving with cross functional teams
Who we are looking for
Project Planning, Target Achievement, Monitoring & Reporting
Employ technical expertise to lead the engineering development of one or more subsystems
• Support the project team(s) engineering in achieving project objectives, performance and cost requirements, and timing milestones. Collaborate with cross functional teams.
• Support the Project Manager (PM) and contribute to the project resource planning, budget development, and status reporting
• Support work development packages assigned to third parties
• Responsible for release of Computer Aided Design (CAD) data into internal and external sites
• Responsible for the release of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), simulations and studies
• Responsible for designs capable of meeting serial production, First Time Quality (FTQ) targets
• Be responsible for designs meeting market region regulations, FMVSS, ECE, CNCA/GB, etc.
Project Related Interface
Support and Promote Project and Operations Collaboration
• Lead global development touchpoint and milestone meetings
• Collaborate with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) to assure production feasibility
• Collaborate with the design studio to assure product appearance harmony
• Collaborate with cross functions ate other project GTAs to make complex decisions
Employee Related Tasks
Ensure cooperation with all areas within the engineering and request the required frame conditions
• Ensure cooperation with project management and all other groups within the area
• Cooperation with all Magna Steyr locations and participate in concurrent engineering
• Escalation problems at the earliest time with the appropriate team members

• Must be flexible and able to course correct paths according to priority alignment
• Education minimum bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline (BSME/BSEE)
• 10+ years of Experience in development of Infotainment systems and HMI
• Experience in requirement (functional and technical) development of Infotainment systems
• Experience in integration of Instrument Cluster and Center Display units
• Experience in development, manufacturing and launching complete vehicle, support EOL
• Experience with Design and Release of Infotainment Electronics and systems
• Experience in UI/UX interface development. Wireframe experience preferred
• Experience with requirement management tools (e.g., ALM, Doors, PTC Integrity)
• Experience with Issue Management Tool (e.g., JIRA) is preferred
• Experience with CAN tools (CANalyzer, CANoe, NeoVI, Vehicle Spy)
• Experience with Catia V5/V6 CAD tools preferred
• Experience with communication protocols (e.g. J1939, UDS, OBD) preferred
• Excellent communication skills and experience working with global teams
• Experience in design release and testing of components and assemblies
• Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
• Computer knowledge and skills in CAD and CAE simulation preferred
• Experience with Teamcenter and Teamcenter Visualization for data analysis preferred
• Experience supervising technical personnel preferred
• Six Sigma certification preferred
• Experience in requirement management tool ALM preferred
• Professional Communication skills (written and verbal)
• Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer
• May require local, domestic, and international travel – less than 15% domestic + international
