This position is responsible for creating,modifying, and supporting PLC\'s, HMI\'s, and VFD\'s. This positionperforms a leadership role in the department to assist other designers,assist in implementing procedures and design standards, and checks otherdesigners\' work, in accordance with company policies and procedures.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Act as a technical resource tocontrol designers, addressing and resolving inquiries and problems.Train control designers including new hires on procedures and processesthat meet quality standards. Design and interpret PLC code forcustomized material handling applications. Design schematic diagrams,wiring diagrams, panel layout drawings, etc. using CAD. Inspect shoppanels for correct wiring and set up. Perform PLC programming,maintenance, and troubleshooting. Facilitate Factory Acceptance Tests.Partner with production as a technical resource. Specify and verifycontrols requirements on new equipment and existing equipment retrofitsincluding maintenance of accurate controls drawings and documentation.Create drawings from written and verbal specifications. Partner withengineers regarding project accuracy, design, standards, and designdocumentation. Complete project responsibilities within scope, budget,and schedule. Create bills of materials that include control enclosure,components, and wire. Act as a technical resource for internal andexternal customers. Participate on cross-functional teams to ensure thecontinuous, on-going improvement of processes, methods, productivity,and quality, while reducing costs. Resolve any engineering issues asthey arise in fabrication, assembly, and service. Observe safetyprocedures and meet electrical codes. Travel to customer sites to startup automated systems, to include adjustment/set-up of drives and controldevices, point-to-point wire check out, check out of PLC code, etc.Travel up to 30%.
