Recruitment Notice -- Senior Engineer, Control Systems
Drive System Design is a global consultancy specializing in the engineering and development of conventional and electrified transmissions and driveline systems, for automotive, off-highway, industrial, and aerospace applications. The Senior Engineer will be based at our Farmington Hills, Michigan facility and will report to the Head of Controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to design and development of control software for electric machines and drive units across automotive, commercial transport, off-highway, and aerospace sectorsCapture requirements for the embedded control systems of electrified productsDesign and develop algorithms for electrified propulsion applications using model-based design toolsMake and contribute to software architecture decisions that facilitate the development of efficient and effective control softwareCreate plant models for various hydro-electro-mechanical systems for MiL & HiL testing of softwarePerform software and calibration development on real hardware in test cells and in vehiclesGenerate formal reports, documentation and technical communication and deliver it effectively to customersManage and deliver internal and external projects to a high standard within time and cost constraintsProvide direction and guidance for a growing department across the entire product development lifecycleCarry out engineering tasks, executed to the highest level whilst following and developing DSD technical processes, procedures, and standardsDevelop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with peers, business development, and technical leadersGeneral Responsibilities

Bachelor degree in Engineering in a relevant fieldAt least 4 years' experience in the design and development of electrified powertrain control systems and componentsAt least 2 years' experience in Design and Release of powertrain componentsProject Management experience involving electrified and/or hybrid systems projectsExperience with software packages and tools relevant to controls engineering.Knowledge of the fundamentals of electric machine operation and the control thereofUnderstanding of the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems that make up hybrid and/or EV powertrains.Working knowledge of ISO 26262 safety standards in automotive programs.Remuneration
