About Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Description: 

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for managing client projects to prepare electrical deliverables including:

Power Distribution Electrical System Designs for Process/Industrial Facilities

Specifications and Data Sheets (Transformers, Switchgear, Motors, UPS etc.)

Vendor Inquiries, Bid Evaluations, and Shop Drawing Reviews

Power System Analysis and Relay Coordination

Area Classification and Electrical Code Assessments

Construction Labor/Material Cost Estimates and Project Schedules

Programming/Set points (VFDs, Relay Protection, Etc.) and Field Support

The Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for assuring quality and timely completion of engineering designs and reports. The Sr. Electrical Engineer should be comfortable in interfacing with the clients, visiting clients’ facilities and performing physical work such as walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing stairs/ladders.

Some travel required to client sites and other Nexus offices. 

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in designing electrical distribution/control systems and performing power system calculations

High Voltage Substation Design (up to 345 kV) experience preferred

Subsurface and overhead transmission line design experience preferred

Project lead experience developing engineering schedules, budgets and forecasts

Working knowledge of or familiarity with:

Microsoft Office products including MS Project

AutoCAD and 3-D CAD a plus

Electrical design tools and calculations

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work effectively in teams and to present a positive image to clients

Education/Certification Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required

Advanced degree a plus

FE certification desired, PE certification a plus

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. About Nexus
