As a Senior Drainage/Hydraulics Specialist Engineer at Flatiron, you willbe responsible for overseeing the design of drainage and hydraulic systems forcomplex transportation infrastructure projects. This includes addressing majorand unique drainage challenges and ensuring effective stormwater management.You will lead specialized multi-disciplinary engineering teams, providetechnical insight, and resolve design and construction challenges. You willalso be responsible for performing technical reviews, engineeringanalysis, and presenting analysis and review findings at technical meetings.

What you will be doing
Lead the design of drainage and hydraulic systems for complex transportationinfrastructure projects, including addressing major and unique drainage andhydraulic challenges.Conduct technical due-diligence reviews of design deliverables, implementbest practice for design and construction needs, develop innovative andoptimized solutions, identify and mitigate key design risks, and ensurecompliance with contract and industry requirements.Provide engineering evaluation and analysis, including advanced drainageanalysis and hydraulic modeling, and site investigations.Lead specialized design coordination and liaison with external and internalParties to provide technical insight and resolve design and constructionchallenges.Perform technical reviews and engineering analysis in an accurate,complete, and timely manner.Present analysis, review findings, and recommendations at technicalmeetings and to Clients, as requested.Capture and spread design innovation and lessons learned to all Districts.Maintain knowledge of Flatiron's company values and strategic plan.Support published corporate policies.Perform additional assignments per management's direction.
What we are looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.Master's Degree or Doctorate (PhD) in Civil Engineering preferred.Professional Engineer (PE) license required.Strong academic knowledge of Drainage/Hydraulics Engineering.5+ years of experience in drainage design, encompassing detailedhydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and possessing a broad understanding ofvarious aspects including, but not limited to: hydrology (rainfallmodeling, watershed analysis, discharge development and routing,etc.), hydraulics (pavement drainage, culverts, storm systems,pump stations, pressure pipe, bridge sizing and scour, sedimenttransport, revetment design, coastal considerations for highwaydrainage, flood analysis, erosion control, etc.), and drainagedesign (preparation of drainage plans, profiles, specifications, andestimates for transportation and water resources projects, etc.) is required.Experience with industry design codes and standards.Proficiency in analytical and numerical industry design software is essential(e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM, AutoCAD, GIS, etc.).Strong communication (verbal and written) and management skills are essential.
