  About the team/role

  Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Senior Director of Total Rewards will be responsible for all aspects of Checkr’s compensation and benefits programs, including geography-based salary programs, executive bonus, commission based variable compensation, stock based compensation, benefits strategy and administration. The successful candidate will seek to understand existing and historical practices, challenge the status quo, think strategically in the design and implementation of scalable Total Rewards programs that are simple, easy to understand, and embraced by our employees. 

  What you’ll do

  Lead a growing Total Rewards team consisting of a Sr. Compensation Manager and open roles for a Benefits Manager and Benefits Administrator A desire to build, create a Total Rewards strategy and roadmap that scales with the growth of the business Embrace an employee-centric mindset balanced with the need to make appropriately frugal decisions Be, by default, a data based decision maker Look around the corner to anticipate and solve issues before they become problems Collaborate with C-staff members to understand their needs, ensure alignment with the company's objectives, and promote a high performing culture Partner with the CPO, other People Team leaders, and colleagues in Finance, Legal, Payroll, etc. in a collaborative and trust building manner to effectively manage and execute total rewards programs Experience with compensation and benefits related compliance and IPO readiness Experience in the preparation of Board materials and partnership with the Compensation Committee as needed Be a thought leader within People and lean into topics outside of Total Rewards Provide services to employee that will enhance their employee experience What you bring

  Excellent people management skills, a high bar for talent, and an active approach to employee development and engagement An active interest in Diversity & Inclusion Public company experience Continual awareness of industry best practices, emerging trends, and ability to gather benchmarking data Demonstrated project management skills and a track record of success in bringing complex, cross-functional projects to successful completion Technical acumen working with HRIS, Performance Management, and Compensation tools Pre-IPO company experience is a nice to have What you’ll get

We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop ranges for our roles and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. If this role is remote, we have listed the top to the bottom of the possible range, but we will specify the target range for an exact location when you are selected for a recruiting discussion.   The base salary range for this role in Denver, CO is $229,394 to $310,356.

  At Checkr, we believe a hybrid work environment strengthens collaboration, drives innovation, and encourages connection. Our hub locations are Denver, CO, San Francisco, CA, and Santiago, Chile. Individuals are expected to work from the office 2 to 3 days a week. In-office perks are provided, such as lunch four times a week, a commuter stipend, and an abundance of snacks.
